I and several friend of mine enlisted and earned our degrees and certifications after that. A couple are doctors.

Then there is this guy. I have a lot of respect for his accomplishments.

Wow, I'd fire him so fast, the guy is a complete idiot. Pretty embarrassing that he is teaching those that will be responsible for the future of this great nation. I know of many well educated and very successful veterans.

Went on to get masters, doctorate, teach college for about 55 years, write or edit two dozen books, be honored as distinguished professor, found and head the Eric Voegelin Institute for American Renaissance Studies, among other pursuits, such as being appointed by Pres. Ronald Reagan to the National Council for the Humanities.

I guess he was one of the "lowest of the low" academically, huh?

Yep. I've met a handful of them like that. Or they got discharged in basic because they "failed to adapt". Talked trash about the military every chance they got, but never where I could hear them.

I'm 16 years in and looking forward to another 15 before I punch.
