I have used marshmallows & cheap dry dog food with good success. Did some AB testing with that combo, kids cereal, and then corn in a different location. Cheap dog food and marshmallows seems to work the best in side by side testing

I use corn in the three duke traps attached to my feeder pen. Works just fine.

Wet foods will produce more smell and work. Dry cat or dog food works good. For a change up that will produce lots of smell and curiosity go to wal mart pet section and find some dried fish or shrimp flakes to sprinkle over your other dry bait.

Corn is v good and safer its more selective in dukes traps...Your not as likely to catch your neighbors cat as sardines would..Plus would set up corrosion in trap with sardines..(.Wet and salty)..and a mess to clean up...
I use a couple here at house with corn and never caught a cat but plenty coons ...Before I got Dukes I used a a couple regular traps (w/sardines)and there are a couple crippled cats in hood..Getting a cat out of a regular trap is a real challange to say the least...

I started trapping about 3 months ago and have been using dry cat food. I have trapped over 30 coons.

                    Coon bait?????

Regular ol corn got the first quadruple at my best deer stand last night. Caught my buddy on my Covert camera stacking em up. This time of year, the corn feeders are turned back and the deer clean it up quick. The coons come for corn and find tubes of corn utopia until the snap![emoji23]. 7 total this am on 11 traps

Put your marshmallow in behind the dog of the trap and pour sardines on top. Works every time.

I tried sardines once...and after I was done for the night with no more than usual caught, I asked myself....why even jack with that nasty stuff, when marshmallows and corn work? To each their own but never again for me unless I am trying to catch a nuisance skunk.

We bought cheap cat food, put it in a big plastic jug and mixed in a can of sardines?
