Assuming it was legal to do so, is there a species of animal that you would not hunt?
I for one would like to shoot a gorilla.
Unless my life is in danger, or the animal is destroying property I will only shoot animals I intend to eat. I just don't have it in me to purely trophy hunt.
I wont shoot nilgai 99 times out of a hundred. I love to hunt them with my sons though. Or the big boys Ben, Heath, Dale, Zac, but thats mostly a party.I dont want to gut them or pay a taxidermy bill. Gorrilla...no way. Deer and Elk, still make me get excited. I can get pretty mean when I think there are too many tame javalina around. Legdog can put the hurt on them with his bow. If they leave the corn alone I leave them alone
I have no desire to kill anything without horns/antlers unless I'm going to eat it. Raccoons, coyotes, and non-native species are an exception. Most animals would get a pass from me

Ohhhhhh I would shoot a Nilgai 99 out of 100 times. I've killed 1 and I wanna eat more of them
Most African animals you see in a zoo, especially any primate. Kudu though is fair game, as Gemsbok and Scimitar. After listening to Rinella and Rogan talk about bears, I am not sure how I would handle having a bear in my crosshairs.
The author of this book was on Rinella's podcast. Might be an interesting summer read about how humans look at animals and anthropomorphism.

this probably makes me an outlier around here but a much shorter list is what I will shoot. Deer, elk, wild hogs, quail, pheasant, ducks/geese and squirrels. Pretty much everything else gets a pass from me.
I wouldn't shoot a black bear over a trash can with jelly donuts I don't think.
I would absolutely like to do a river hunt and hunt them from the river doing spot and stalk with a bow. Nothing against people who hunt them over bait. I just would prefer not to do it that way.
I was going to say the same thing, Hunter. I shoot plenty of other animals over bait/corn, and have killed predators over carcasses. I also want to spot and stalk from a boat or just in the mountains.
I'd hunt anything that was a challenge to kill. Slam dunk kills just don't get the adrenaline rush that make hunting what it is for me. When you outsmart and animal on its home turf that's when it's all worth it.
