Maam I hope you are reading these comments. I think 99 percent of the people here to answer you question would have NEVER EVER done what your son did. He was poaching on a property that he did not have permission to hunt. It WAS NOT shot legally the first time nor the second time. A deer that is coming back to the same feeder a week later isnt in misery IMO. Hes being a deer again. That reply from her was tough to read...

Probably best that he learned that fences mean something in TX, before it turned out worse for him.

Question for the people who say he should have his hunting rights revoked. Does it matter if they are revoked? He obviously did not follow the rules in the first place and just because he does not have a license does not mean he will not shoot deer, he’s already a proven poacher. Kind of like once a liar always a liar. Or once a thief always a thief.

It matters because if he continues his behavior with his rights revoked, it'll make it much easier to prosecute him.

If he's night hunting but legally has a license, there is significant procedure required to demonstrate illegality. If he's not allowed to hunt at all, it eliminates the burden of evidence if they can simply prove he was in a field with a gun or bow.
