    Regular Feeders or Tailgate Feeders?

Where do most of you see more deer?
I'm thinking about going back to tailgate only because the Javies/raccoons are dominating my feeders. I see way more deer when I blast the roads with the tailgate.

I'm not ready to put up hog paneling yet. I just don't like the way it looks. It lessons the thrill of the hunt to me for some reason.

I have feeders running all year to bring in Deer, once season starts I use the truck feeder whenever I drive in to my stand. It gives the Deer more corn to eat and more time for me to get a shot if I want to take a Deer

Our deer will eat tailgate feed way before they hit the feeders.

Our deer will always eat the corn on the roads before going to the feeders . Most deer that eat the corn on the roads will never even go to them at all .

Thanks fellas. I just needed justification to put my new 600# feeder by the live creek. Hope to feed the catfish and keep the Javies/raccoons away from the roads. Once I set up that feeder at my primary blind, the deer dropped off the map in that area. I only have 21 acres to deal with and need all the doe I can get.

If I got someone to drop me off at a stand then yellow brick road all round me. If I’m walking in then I’ll hand corn and hit the test button on the feeder then set up.

Using the tailgate feeder then walking in after parking always seems to spook several deer in my experience

Coon cuffs will thin them quick. Use dry cat food and you can catch 2 to 4 a night per feeder.

I don't have a feeder on my stand. only use the tailgate feeder. I've personally killed a mature buck under a feeder. I have killed them where I've hand corned or fed with my tailgate feeder.

Tailgate feeder works best for me. Haven't used a regular feeder in several years.

Most have feeders set up just to keep a few doe around. The mature bucks hit them at night. Then during peak season, blow and hunt the roads. Deer have all kinds of trails to approach and can weave in and out of Javies.

I kind of knew this before buying my 600# feeder, but now I have confirmation because my deer disappeared when I went from tailgate to feeder. They got used to my trucjk and came in quick.

Are you gonna sell this 600 pound feeder? I might be interested in it, have a couple buddies who might want it also

                              Thanks for the offer.
I'm going to keep it, but remove it from my deer area because the Javies run the deer off. Once empty, I'm going to move it to my live creek and let it throw half into the water to bring in catfish, etc. and hopefully keep the raccoons and Javies away from the deer.

Luckily, I can tailgate my place anytime I want because its 3 miles from my office in Kingsville, and I can go out there during lunch and tailgate to keep the deer around.
