    Dargel Kat 23 Question

By chance, who on here has one?

Went to the old boat show to pay down on a 23 Shoalwater cat and ended up falling in love with the Dargel Kat. Anyone happen to have one? Anyone one been on one? Anyone know a guide with one?

Any and all info would be much appreciated.

They’re good boats, never been in one but I live 20 minutes from the shop in Donna. Everything I heard about that boat was good but for the price you’d be paying its not worth having to do business with Cleve and Miriam. We used to have a Dargel and went to a majek because of how they handled business.

I would be dealing with the local dealer here in Houston. Thanks for the heads up.

No sure how they are but if they take care of you that’s all that matters, we were originally going to buy a 23 foot kat but after all the problems we had with our first boat from them we swapped to majek and haven’t looked back.

              Dargel Kat 23 Question

A friend had one a while back. Admittedly is was too much boat for him and he ended up selling. It was a well built boat. The biggest complaint he had with it was that it was a gas hog and it cost more than his first house.

I’m a little biased since I work for the company but I run a 25 and can answer just about any questions you have. Jmsck12 you might want to clear up who the issue was with. Engine problems are out of a boat builders hands

How shallow and how fast with which prop, semi loaded?

A 25 with a 250SHO, 50 gallons of gas, two guys, and some adult beverages it will float in around 10”-10.5”. Will get up in 12” on a soft bottom but to get up clean without pushing your prop 15”-18”. We prop them for holeshot and with a 19 pitch Bauman 4 blade lifter it will run low 50’s on average trimmed out in fairly shallow water. Up on plane it will run significantly skinnier but we don’t recommend it due to TPW grass laws

So you work for them down in Brownsville area? What's your title?

Wish I could find a guide between here and there and spend a little time on the boat before I spend that kind of money.

It's nice to test drive a new truck before you sign on the doted line!

I run our shop in Los Fresnos. Not sure if any of us truly have a title. We all wear several hats. Shoot me an email ian@dargel.com and I’ll get you set up on a ride and I can answer any and all questions you have

I know Capt. Scott Null guides down in the Port O' Conner area and I think Galveston as well. You might contact him for a guided trip. He mainly does fly fishing, but I'm sure he'd be willing to fish other methods if needed.

I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a 25. I'm still not sure if I want to spend that much on a boat but man it's sexy. I almost walked out of the boat show with one.

Your saying he has a Dargel Kat?
