Higher trailers.

Most trailers that I have seen are made with about 1 foot of ground clearance. I don’t know much about them but where do I get one that has a lot higher clearance? Is that just changing out the axel or does it have to be made for higher clearance?

You can flip the leaf spring to over the axel that will raise it

Yep what he said. Swap the shackles around so that the leaf sits on top of the axles instead of under neath.

We had to do that to a 5th wheel a while back. Raised it just high enough.

i did our deer camp trailer 15yrs ago or so. just bought new leaf spring perches and U bolt kit. welded them to the top of the axle, put the axles under the leafs, bolted back up and easy 6" lift

Dexter Axle Co., the company who builds most axles on trailers sells an axle flip kit. It has all the parts needed, you just need to know the diameter of the axle tube.

You can flip the axle as well as run bigger tires. May check out some of the old military type trailers as they sit up pretty high

Thanks for the information. I was only looking for additional clearance for the frame of the trailer. Right now the trailer floor is only a foot above the ground and I wanted it to sit up a little higher which I think the suggestion above will take care of. I hope that solves my problem

What if the axle is already on the bottom side of the leafs?
My 5th wheel sits low to my bed rails already- limiting my choice of truck due to bed height, Is there a block kit out there to raise a trailer even higher?

I have a small 5x8 that I pull with a lifted jeep. Leaf Springs are flipped. Sits higher and pulls better.
