Disappearing ice

Well yesterday we couldn't walk or drive on our walkways and driveway
As a matter of fact I busted my arse slipping on ice ! We also had icesicle hanging, this morning I walked out to check my mother in law and it was a whopping 15* and I had no ice any where, I thought it would need to warm up before ice would dissolve

Well being a native Texan, I had no idea my last big ice event was in 1989 and I just don't remember the ice self dissipating so rapidly

Exactly, especially when you have a super dry arctic airmass. Once the precip moved it, it was followed by very dry air that is like a sponge. Check your dew point, I bet it is in the teens.

Doesn't necessary have to be high winds to melt the ice. Dry air will melt it as well.
