Stay away from cables, wires, and strings! Pigs can seen them and will eventually avoid them. I use 65# power-pro or spider wire. A 100 yd spool for $15 will go a long way. It's a dark color so it doesn't stick out and pigs usually don't notice it. Also it doesn't stretch, so any movement on the trip and the door goes down. This has worked very well for me.
