4-h rifle question

what type of rifle is used in 4-h small bore?

Are you asking action type or caliber ?? Many moons ago my son shot an anchultz achiever that was a single shot bolt action 22. He shot a ruger 10-22 when shooting silhouettes.

depends on what you shoot, 3 position, sil, or they have new sporter class that uses like 10/22 with scopes as well

See I didn’t know what all they shoot I knew about the Anschutz rifles but wasn’t sure if they had made any changes like the 10/22’s mentioned above. Also asking my 10 yo loves shooting his air rifle and .22 .

When I was younger, they would issue us a bunch of old Winchester 52 single shot target rifles and one Mossberg target rifle.

If I remember correctly we picked them up from the county. I am not sure how the county was involved, but I thought we went to some county building to pick up the rifles. My stepfather was the instructor of the small bore rifle team. I am not 100% sure if we got them from the county. I know my step father made some calls, found out who to get the rifles from, we had to go pick them up, we had to sign for them. I know we got many boxes of small bore rifle targets. I don't remember where we got the ammo from, not sure if we had to supply the ammo or if they gave us the ammo also.

This was all back in the 80s, not sure how much things may have changed. Good luck.
