I bought some land back in 2005, and put a fence up around the place and had some dozer work done. I never wrote this off on taxes, but i have been told you can go 3 years back on that. Does anyone know if this is correct?

From the IRS website;

Form 1040X must be filed within 3 years from the date of your original return or within 2 years from the date you paid the tax, whichever is later.

I don't do tax work anymore, so don't take this as professional advice.
