    Lasik

Who’s had it done recently, where at, and what did it cost? Always wanted to do it, but wasn’t gonna spend the high dollar price tag it was. Saw a commercial the other day where a place was advertising it for a stupid cheap price. Like $300 an eye. This is my eyesight we’re dealing with, so I doubt I’ll go to a place just because they have the cheapest price, but I have no clue what the normal price is.
I lost my eyeglasses and am fed up with the hassle of dealing with them. TIA

My wife and I both had ours done at Mann Eye in Houston. I want to say it was a little over $2500 per person. I would for sure go some where reputable, your eyesight is with the money. If you send Ashley a PM she could explain everything. Her name on TBH is MannEye-Ashley.

Had mine done at Berkeley eye center and was the best thing I ever did. Mine was $2000 but had a $1000 of for friends and family discount. But I will say this they wanted to one eye for near vision and one for far vision but when talking to the lady at Berkeley and telling her I shoot a lot of sporting clays and hunt she said that wouldn’t work for me. So I had them corrected for far vision. I have to still were cheaters for reading but that fine with me. I went to the Kingwood branch.

Do it! Had it done over 15 years ago and I still have great far sight vision. I do have to wear cheaters to read but that was expected at my age anyway.

A few years back, at 40 I believe, I asked my eye doctor about lasik. I was told not to do it yet because my eye vision was still consistent on exams. He said everyone's vision will make a change (get worse) around 42ish, 43ish, 44ish or whatever. 43 now, and my vision has indeed made a change. He had basically told me that if I would have done it prior to the change, it would have had to be recorrected after the change. I still haven't done it yet, but that's just an FYI. After I had heard that, several people I know had to go back in and do it all over because they did it just a little too soon.

You are correct. I’m 46 and last year when I went in for my eye exam, my prescription was a great deal stronger than my previous ones. The eye dr. told me what you just said about a persons eyesight.

I got it done 10 years ago @Dr. Tylock in Irving, TX. $1500/eye and I had a stigmatism (spelling?) which makes it cost MUCH more. Wife had hers done 5 years ago at Dr. Boothe in Dallas. She paid $1k an eye - again she had a stigmatism.

I was 26 when I got mine done and had substantially better than 20/20 after surgery. At 36 I can still see exceptionally - probably around 20/20 or still a little better.

Wife was 25 when she got hers done - she just turned 30 - and she has actually had some fade and may need a touchup. her eyes don't see as well as they did even though she was slightly better than 20/20 when she was done.

Both Dr's give free touchups at least once after your surgery. My wife is thinking about calling and getting one done.

Surgery was painless, easy, and I would recommend it to anyone. Your eyes will be swollen for a couple days and full of solution that they pour in there so you can't drive home from the surgery. But, next day you can see really well.

I’ve had several family memebers that used Dr.Tylock in Irving and every single one of them has no regrets about it!

1 year ago...Carter Eyecenter in Dallas. I believe it was around $3200.00 for both eyes. seems like most people are up and out the next day. I actually had a tough few weeks after I did it. took a couple of months for my eyes to really settle down.....Best money I ever spent.

Got mine done at Mann Eye here in the Woodlands about a year ago.
Went from 20-400 (super nearsighted with astigmatism) to 20-20 vision once the hazyness from the procedure wore off. Had starbursts while driving at night. Made it tough for about a month but it cleared up on its own. My night vision is better than its ever been and i absolutely love the outcome.
Mann eye is a sponsor on TBH and you get a discount plus i got some extra off through a work program.

Had mine done a long time ago, 2000 I think. To this day, still the best money I have ever spent. Will do it again if it ever becomes a problem.

Did it 20+ years ago. The best extravagant thing I have ever done for myself by far. My wife has always been 20/20 so she doesn't get it. I guess I gave both my daughters bad eyesight. They have worn glasses since the 6th grade. They are 26 and 30 now. I'm fixing to surprise them with some money to get theirs done.
