First Deer With A Bow Down

So I shot this little spike the other weekend on 12/30/2017 at 7:18 AM in Milam County, Texas but am just now getting around to posting this. Not much to the story other than my buddy and I got into the stand kind of late at 6:45ish. We didn't wait too long as the spike wasted no time in coming out right around the time it was light enough for me to feel comfortable shooting. I was hesitant at first after wounding a deer two years ago with my bow but decided if I didn't face my worries then I never would so I got set up and drew back. I had to hold for a little bit waiting for him to bring his leg forward even though I ended up shooting with his leg still back a little. The grim reaper did the trick and went through part of the shoulder, a rib, and caught part of another rib on the way after going straight through the heart. He only ran about 15-20 yards and piled up. I am definitely hooked on bowhunting! Shooting that little spike got me as jacked up like it was my first deer all over again!
