Haha! They look like a couple old timers just jawin’ at the skinning pole!

This was my 8 year old’s first season behind the rifle. He just about wore me out hunting this year. He killed four deer. I sat exactly TWO hunts by myself all season. He refuses to bring an I pad or play games on a phone while in the stand, because it’s “serious hunting time.”

Their enthusiasm rubs off on everyone. He put in tremendous stand time, paying his dues laying down 3 does. When that old wide buck finally stepped out Christmas Day, and I watched him make a perfect shot...well you just can’t describe how proud you are as a Dad.

      Good Times!!!

Kids also seem to save all of their farts up till the get in the deer blind.

Competitive farting is a favorite deer blind activity with kids in the stand. First person to gag or open a window loses.

Great thread! When my kids were little, I would take blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows. I would let them sleep when they got tired, then wake them if I saw a deer so they could shoot. After they got a little older we would do the same thing except, they would wake me up when they saw a deer.

Great stories. Mine keep a lucky horseshoe with them. When I take them, we always see wildlife.

Miss those days with my son. Now I take my nephews and can’t wait to someday take grandkids. I be happy never taking another shot in my life as long as I get to take a kid hunting.

Took my son once and set him up in his own blind. Mostly quiet but every once in a while i would check with him on our walkie talkies. Late morning and i tell him I'm coming out and down to get you. I get to his blind and find all kinds of food from camp. He says he walked back to camp three times for snacks. That explains why he didn't see a single deer all morning from my honey hole spot lmao
