    hogs jumping the string?

Im still going after my first deer with a bow. I shoot an older, slower, and probably louder setup than modern ones. Last night, i had my string jumped by a doe who ducked under my arrow. I could have shot a hog too and was wondering if hogs can jump the sound of the string to because i don't see them as being as quick as a whitetail? I did a search and couldn't come up with anything. Any oponions?

I've never seen it. I shot them with my Outback and they don't move. Aim low anyway. The heart is in their armpit. They are much more difficult to recover than deer. If you're shooting at a big one, wait for the leg to move forward or go for a quartering away.

Don't sweat the doe jumping your string. More than likely she did not duck your arrow but was coiled to jump as the arrow flew over her. It has happened to most of us here I am sure. Like I was told early on.........Aim low, aim low.

I have taken some long shots at pigs(50-60yard) and have had them dodge the arrow.Fast little suckers.

It could happen. Real loud bow, real close.

That's pretty much a jumping the string thing, Exterminator.

I've shot two at 15 yards with my older PSE Nova (250-260 fps) and they didn't even move until the arrow passed through. Didn't recover either one though. Like stated earlier, shoot low and tight against the shoulder or slightly quartered to hit that heart!

never had one jump the string but had one spin around so fast as an arrow was going through it that it broke my arrow in half. The broadhead half came out but the other half of the arrow was still inside it when I found the hog.

Pigs can't jump but I have heard of flying pigs.
