Reg Mackworthy of lake Fork! Won a trip 2 years ago at the church dinner he donated. Jackass lied to me till it expired. Wouldn't pizz in his mouth if his teeth were on fire! He should change his name from I am second to I am number 2!!

I've seen the good, bad and the ugly in my 30+ years here at Fork. Rocky would be my choice. He's had more fish in his boat over 13lbs (which have been confirmed by actually weighing them in and entering them in the "Lunker Program") than anyone in the history of Lake Fork. He also fished four years on the B.A.S.S. tour and qualified for the Bassmaster's Classic during two of them.

You'll find quite a few that have caught more unconfirmed huge fish and have fished on various "pro" circuits here at Fork but you will not find anyone past or present that knows Lake Fork or bass fishing better than Richard. He's an ok deer hunter too who's killed 160s to 190s by hunting trails and sign without feeders. (Luck) He's also not going to have patches all over his shirt or sponsor decals all over his boat (Btw they are only sponsors if they are writing you a check to put them on your boat. Otherwise you are pretending).

lol! I wasn't really trying to be a smart arse...well, ok maybe I was!

I don't know what he charges now. If he is over $1,000 for a half day, I would just tell him he is overcharging!

p.s. I am told to NOT put your bow case on the counter!

If you want to go to Lake Fork for the reasons you should want to go to Lake Fork, you don't ask how much it costs. You call Richard McCarty and ask when he has an opening.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, but the truth is that my conscience won't allow me to be very positive about the bass fishing at Fork currently.
Yes, we might have a good day, and catch a nice fish or two, but the fishing is definitely not what is being portrayed in social media.
10 lbers are not, have not, and never will be a daily occurrence.

Fork was inundated with white bass a few years back, and we have some of the biggest in the area.
I'm having tons of fun fishing these fish.
Pretty much any skill level can catch these whites when it's happening, and have a blast unlike bass fishing.
The whites are plenty good eating also!

The disappearance of Hydrilla hasn't helped matters either.

OP, look into going to Monticello
