I got the great opportunity to take my son and his girlfriend to the lease for some fun and hunting. This is the first time my sons girlfriend (Bree) has ever been hunting. After a couple sits on Friday with my son I told her to hunt with me this morning and my son went to a 4x4 blind that I mainly bow hunt.
By the time Bree and I made it to our stand Ty is texting saying he has deer at the feeder. At 7:32 I hear him shoot and he said that he seen his buck fall about 70 yards away. Bree and I sat all morning with nothing coming to the feeder. I sat in the same stand the morning before and had 10 does, two shooter bucks and 5 more little bucks. So this morning was slow and at 8:35 Bree said something was behind the feeder in the brush. Sure enough two does step out and I put my new Christensen Ridgeline 6.5x284 out the window and told her to wait until she turns. Just as the doe turns Bree said “I need my ear muffs”. While she is doing that the doe turns again and is giving her a front shot so she has to wait a few more minutes. As the doe turns and gives Bree a quartering too shot I told her to shoot it right in front of the shoulder. And before I knew it BOOM. The doe fell in her tracks and we gave some high fives and hugs. She was extremely excited and so was I. Hope y’all enjoyed and thanks for reading.
