Double Pedestal Mount - Need Ideas/Help

I've googled images and done a little research but I also realize there are a bunch of taxidermists on here that have real world experience.

These two deer were killed in previous years and I have been waiting to mount. We have a new building going up and would like to display these two together on a double pedestal.

Looking for ideas that you guys have done. Also, wondering if I should buy a pedestal or have someone make one for me. I would prefer the pedestal to look aged and actually have a bunch of old barn wood from my great grandparents house that's over a hundred years old. Would that be a possible to use?

    Thanks in advance,

    Todd

Google has some good ones. I'm in the early stages of doing one myself so I saved several pics off the web

Thank you. The deer are in East Texas but they are high fence with introduced genetics.

The first buck was originally shot by a customer twice (once in the neck and once in the guts) but we never recovered even after calling dogs in. The buck was not seen again for a while despite being a feeder hog and we were unsure if he was alive. Fast forward about 3 weeks and he walked into my set-up having lost a ton of weight and having two green/yellow **** holes from the previous shots. I shot him and gave the horns/cape to the original hunter with the exception that I could 'borrow' them to have some replicas made. Chance Love did an outstanding job on the replicas.

The second buck is an 8 point with a couple extras. I shot him because of his 8 point frame which was in the low 160s.

Are you building your own base or buying one? I'm not much of a finish carpenter and don't want my base to look like I built it. Ha.

Thought about buying a base that looks old. But also like the idea of using some really old reclaimed wood from the family.

This is the one that stood out to me as far as a base. Of course this has 3 bucks on it.

Building mine out of old barn wood and tin. It will look similar to this one, but larger. I will have two bucks on the pedestal, with a euro mount, some bobwhites, and a few other things inside it. It will be lighted inside with a glass front.

I thought that deer looked familiar, then I read the story and remembered him for sure. He's a great buck.
