Sitka gear! I need help!

Well my gf got me the equinox pant and jacket for Christmas, now I’m wondering what I need next! Gunna go ahead and get the trucker cap, the fleece beanie, and the regular beanie. Is the fanatic jacket and bib set the next thing I need to buy? Or would y’all recommend another piece of their line-up?

Do you hunt the mountains or spot-n-stalk? If not, I would spend my money elsewhere. I love my Sitka gear but it has its time and place.

You would only need the Fanatic if temps were like they are currently (20’s or lower). The perfect set is the Stratus for Texas (at least my part of TX). If it gets in 30’s I just layer more and it’s fine. I did buy a Fanatic jacket however for Kansas and wore it last week in Weatherford in 25 degree weather and layers underneath and actually got hot. I have the early season set for Sept-Nov and then when temps get between 30-45 degrees I use the Stratus with different layering. My 2 cents...

I wear compression fit long johns with a fleece jacket, another compression jacket and a pair of Nike insulated sweatpants with my late season scentlok and I sweat if I stay in them too long! I get cold easy and the rides tot he stand in the early morning sure are chilly. Just wanting something that will cover me when it is extra cold. My extremeties are what’s the worst. I wear a special pair of socks over under armour socks and it does the job as I don’t like wearing insulated hunting boots because they make me sweat and they’re big and bulky! I figured the fanatic would be more than I need but it’s better to have and not need than to need and not have! Thanks for the help too! I think I may order them if work picks up more than this year lol

Base layers are the most important thing you can buy in my opinion. I like their zip Ts too for early season. Lightweight and midweight version. I run kuiu base layers then the zip T and then my jet stream or traverse. I've got the kuiu super down pants and super ultra down jacket(dumb name lol) and if I need more than that I wear my kuiu guide pants and jacket. Look into base layers then work your way out. If you just sit in a blind all the time you're wasting your money though as you can do more with less. These things are built for mountain hunts. Sitka has whitetail hunting gear better suited for sitting. I need some incinerator gear.

Ascent when hot and Stratus with layering for anything in Texas. I find my self wearing a pair of 90% pants the most since everything else is stored for scent control unless hunting.

The eve was cold no matter what you wear but handled it fine with layers.

The Stratus lineup is perfect for typical Texas conditions, a decent base layer and the stratus stuff can get me into the 40s and still be perfectly comfortable. I’ve hunted with temps down in the 30s and only needed to add an additional layer for my core, picked up the Fanatic vest this year and it was awesome when the mercury dropped. Try to shop used or buy it in the spring when it goes on sale, the stuff is good but too expensive to buy at retail prices!

The pieces I use the most are the pants obviously, the Zip-T and Heavyweight Hoodie. I really like my Jetstream Jacket a lot but I never end up wearing it after getting the hoodie.
