    Tent stove build?

    Anyone ever build one?

Thinking of a piece of pipe cut to accept a flat top with a warming shelf. Some sort of removable legs.

I've got a titanium stove for my tipi, but I dont think its big enough for my big tent.

Something kind of like this is what im after

Yes, as a matter of fact. I'll pull it out shortly and get you a couple pics.

We used to make them out of propane tanks, old compressors, etc.

It's a 1/4" wall 24" diameter pipe that I cut to 22" I believe. I use it to heat a 16'x20' canvas tent when in the mountains.

Sorry for the poor picture quality. I pulled it out of mothballs to snap these.

I have a Four Dog. Didn't build it. Bought it from Four Dog Stoves. It is awesome. It has some features that would be good to incorporate into a build. Like the door seal and baffle in the fire box.

Exactly what im looking for. thanks!

How do those legs attach? I was thinking of welding small pieces of pipe onto the barrel, and then have smaller pipe to slide in as legs.

What sort of features? I'm not opposed to buying one, just thought building one would be fun and cheap.

I welded some large nuts to a ~3" piece of pipe that I then welded to the bottom of the pipe. Then I added some all thread to my legs so they screwed in. I wanted a little adjustability in case it was sitting on uneven ground.

Made one out of a 15 gallon drum to heat my little cabin at the lease

I wish I had built me one of these for next week. I will make it a project for next summer to build one of these.
