Road Conditions between Lubbock and Abilene?

The drive from Mertzon to Brownwood was slow going today between the wind and ice. Slid across a bridge just east of San Angelo going 45mph. That’ll make your butt pucker. Luckily it was a short bridge. I’m sure it’s much worse now. Snapped a few pics for the kids once I got to Brownwood.

Wife and kid are in Abilene and wanted to come home today but they could not get a mile from the house. She said people were sliding all over the place. I thought in her AWD Subaru she'd be better than most on ice but she wasn't comfortable trying it. May be stuck there a while. Nothing like being stuck in Abilene with in-laws. Looks like a made a good decision to stay behind

Drove from Shamrock to Austin today.
Abilene was dangerous this afternoon, many cars in ditches.

County and FM roads are pretty slick around Roscoe. Haven’t gotten on the interstate, but the cars are moving on way faster than I would even think about going.

Clear skies and sunshine. The roads will be clear before long, if they're not already. Streets in front of my house are dry and clear. I was sliding on them last night.
