    2009 - Starting with a BANG

I just got back from my evening hunt. Brad at the Hale Ranch put me on a huge 8 point with double throat patches. We had over 60 deer come in tonight. He came in the oat patch just before dark. I ranged him at 266 yards with the Nikon 800. It was going to be my farthest shot to date. I put the crosshairs of the Leupold 12X on the top of his back and let one fly with the Remington 700 LTR .308. My shot went straight through both front shoulders. We walked about 50 yards and dropped like a pile of bricks. Here are a few photos. Notice the distinctive double white patches on the throat. We haven't scored him yet - any guesses?

cool looking deer, I'd guess mid 130s' on the score.

are you getting him shoulder mounted? would be a very cool looking mount.
