I leave my 11 yo in the car alone all the time. Never even crossed my mind. If I took precautions for every what-if that could possibly happen when we are in public, we would never leave the house unless wearing layers of bubble wrap.

I rode in the back window of an 85 caddy more times than I can count cause we had 6 people and 5 seatbelts. Get in the floorboards, there’s a cop, was often announced in our car.
