    Puppy having seizures.

My brother in law has a 4.5 old 12 lb Red Merle Mini Aussie. It's had probably 5 or 6 seizures. The pup fell out of the pickup at about 2 months old but seemed fine. It was having them every 2nd or third day and that stopped. Anyway it had not had a seizure in 2 weeks until today. Thoughts?

My Bluetick started having them once a month or so. That lasted about three years and then he died from one. Vet could not track down what was causing it.

Maybe thyroid? One of my hunting dogs has them when she gets too hot if she’s not on her thyroid medicine

I believe they are prone to epilepsy

Take to vet and have them do labs.

If it started having seizures after it fell out of the truck then it got a head injury that is causing them. I hate to tell you but no fixing it. My wifes lab ran into the dog door full blast while it was closed, then started having seizures a few weeks later. We tried every medicine there is. Over a dozen pills a day, blood work to A&M etc, finally he started having 8-12 a night and we had to put him down. It was a very sad deal.

may not be of any help but we had a chihuahua, for a number of years,, she had them from an unknown cause but we were advised to give her ice cream,,,, she could not do anything when she had one but flick her tongue in and out,, we nuked the ice cream for a few seconds to get it soft whatever it was it worked, a shallow bowl of ice cream helped her snap out of them very fast,, we eventually learned it was probably caused by a chemical deficiency in her case,,, so once a week we would give her a big spoonful and she never had another as long as we did

We had a Brittany/Springer mix that started having them at 2 years old out of the blue. He "only" had about 1 a week or so. He died at age 13 and was on medication the whole time for them. You definitely should take the dog to the vet to get it checked out, but as mentioned if the cause is from falling out of the truck they may not be able to help much.
