Really debating on getting mine done asap or wait till warranty is up. I know smart thing is waiting for warranty to end but also the longer I wait the more harm I'm causing my truck. Any advice?

Just did my F350 at 114k miles. HOLY SMOKES!!! MPG went up 5. I did it because I just replaced my EGR sensors, $500 and then the DEF tank heater was throwing a code. Did away with all that now and it runs like a champ.

Who did your work, Clint? I'm finding prices all over the board and I think I need to get it done sooner than later.

Haven’t seen nor heard anything about emissions changes for diesels. If you have verifiable info, please share with the class.

I picked up the parts to do it myself, but got so sick during the time I had off that I couldn't even get started... now I'm about to be back on 7-13's for awhile.

If there's someone good in the Houston area who can help me out with the installation, I have the following:

            Delete package including:
EZ Link with PPEI tunes and switch
            5" Flo Pro exhaust
            Er block plates
            Fass 95 titanium lift pump

So is it going to be more illegal than it already is?

Texas DOT Smog Check and Car Inspection requirements. Find out what emissions and safety inspections your vehicle will need to pass before it can be registered, renewed, or sold. Learn what to do if it fails.

I think it may just be gasoline engines and in certain counties. Not sure.

Looks like diesels are exempt from that page.

Doesn’t make it it legal to take off emission equipment.

Yes I know. That’s federal, not state.

I was just looking for backup from Traildust’s post since he hasn’t provided a source for his statement.

I have to ask, I really do not know the real answer. If a truck has been deleted, will it pass a regular state inspection?

Ive called certain inspection facilities in my county, Brazoria County.

Most have said they don’t look. However a few said they will look if they can tell it’s been deleted. The straight pipe guy with the turbo whistle tune. If the emissions equipment isn’t intact, they can refuse to pass the truck.

There are people who specialize in keeping it “appearing intact” but fully deleted.

My source was a buddy who is service manager where I always had my Cummins serviced. I had sold the truck and was in getting my gasser serviced. He told me they were going to start checking for missing emission parts during inspections. Said the state was cracking down on the inspectors. Ymmv.
