    Video camera help

Well I got some money for Christmas and am looking to get a camera to record hunts and maybe take some wildlife pics and looking to spend around $200.I was looking at the gopro hero5 session or the canon vixia hf r800.Anyone have any experience with one or both of these and any other recommendations are also welcome.

Go pro is not designed to do what you want. At least not well. Go with the Canon. Hands down better for what you want.

Here is what I have and it has a WiFi and you can zoom in. It’s a great camera.

I recommended that Canon to a friend's wife for his Christmas this year. You'll get so much more out of the camcorder than you will the action cam (gopro) for your purposes.

Consider a bag, memory cards, extra battery (higher capacity) and a tripod if you hunt from the ground or box blind.

Oh, and ignore any zoom other than OPTICAL. The digital zooms are not real zooms and you won't get the best results using them. Stick to the optical limit, which at 32x on the Canon, is plenty.
