I've owned all three, they're all great engines. All of them have had their issues over the years. Right now, they are all pretty much bulletproof. If you are looking for a highway driver....any of them will last a LONG time! If you are gonna be using them for work, I would recommend Ford. Dodge just can't seem to build a truck that will hold up to HARD work. Chevy would be my second choice, they drive more like a car than the other two, but as far as all around truck, I would take the 6.7 Ford hands down over the other two. If you do go with a Ford, I would invest 500 bucks and have the REVELCO anti-theft system installed. F-250's and F-350's are very popular with thieves. Just my opinion expressed here, as I said earlier, if you're looking for a highway driver, kid toter, any of the three should last you a long time!

Just based on our current experience. We bought a 2016 F350 cab and chasis for work. Our older Dodge had a pile of miles and was starting to cost us to keep it on the road. We will never own another F350 cab and chasis. The 09 Dodge would pull our little dozer and never have issues. This F350 acts like we are towing the Titanic.
Not sure what we will go to next, like you I have heard problems with all the makes. In my opinion, when companies quit making real trucks and went to all this computer crap we have not had a real truck since. "Programming" seems to be the word. Yeah, well I had an 89 Dodge that would pull a house off it's foundation, and there was no "programming" involved. Real motor, real rear end, and a real transmission. I do know when we replace this **** of a truck, we will not buy anything New. I need a real truck, not a town cruiser. Good luck to you if you change vehicles.

For a 14-16’ model either Chevy or Ford. For 11-13’ model then Chevy. Ford got a few updates in 14’ that did away with a few issues they were having. I’ve had 4 Dodge 2500s from 12-14 year models. Great motors, but crap trucks. Two grenaded differentials, a shot tranny, and the brakes going out on me at 80mph. I finally told my boss I was walking out the door if they put me in another Dodge POS when I was sitting on the side of the road after the brake incident. I had a 14’ Chevy the next day, and didn’t have anymore issues.

I owned a 2016 f250 powerstroke bought new and owned for 10 or 11 months. It stayed in the shop for a variety of issues. Vibration, def usage, staying in regen, leaking oh $#!/ handles, and a turbo that sounded like it was trying to eat itself . At the end of the day 3 dealerships told me it's all normal and that 7 out of 10 of their trucks have some/several of the issues mentioned.
All car manufacturers have issues but 3 Ford dealerships and a complaint with Ford corporate and how the handled let me know it was the first and last Ford I will own. I now own a 17 Duramax with 4,000 miles, the Ford had half a dozen shop visits by this point. I've dealt with Chevy issues before and every Chevy dealer showed customer service.Last edited by doublearrow; 12-26-2017, 08:08 PM.
