    Generac Generators?

My wife got me a custom 1000w fishing light and a Generac invertor/generator for Christmas. (Model 7117 gp2200i-2200w).

I know they're well known for their big generators, and they've been selling these small portable ones for years as well. Other than that, I don't know much else about them. Customer support, warranty, etc...

I realize we've got the cart before the horse as far as researching them, but I just wanted to get your opinions, pros, cons, etc...

I also realize that Honda and Yamaha are at the top of the market. Had we had the funds, she would have gotten the Honda; I told her not to on that accord. Anyway, let me know if you use them, like them, hate them; I'm just curious.

I’ve had one for a couple years, runs great.

I've had a Generac iX1600 and 1000 watt fishing light setup for quite some time. Rarely ever use it, but when I do that thing fires right up and runs nonstop. I've never had an issue with it. It's pretty quiet too.

I ran generacs on my fishing boats XL 4000 and I ran the poop out of them 100's of hours full load ,and they just kept going, don't know much about the inverters .one buddy had them and they worked good from what I remember

Just like any small engine, make sure you run it for a while at least every 30 days....and keep the gas stabilized.

Thanks. I'm going to try to take good care of this thing. The co-op near me sells ethanol free gasoline, and I'm going to make sure I put Stabil in it if I end up letting it sit for a while.

It's nice to hear that these are good generators. I know they're reputable in the larger generators, but have never seen anyone running one of these.
