Best money spent. I have never had the knack for putting an edge on and have screwed up more than I have fixed. The worksharp makes it a breeze to do. Makes knives razor blade sharp in about 2 minutes.
It does a great job on quickly putting an edge on a knife. Understand that it can use a pretty abrasive belt and can quickly eat metal. It's a learning curve using it but again does well on most knives. I wouldn't use one on a high dollar blade. I purchased mine years ago when I found out what my wife was paying someone to sharpen her kitchen knives, (Henckle and Wustoff)
I have one and wished I had bought one years ago. My GF hacked up all of my knives AND my small back pack ax while cutting up her deer. I mean big old notches in the blades. I used my wet stone to take out the notches, then used the Work Sharp to bring all those blades back to razor sharp.
I just bought one for my son for Christmas. His wife is gonna love me!
Just kidding......thought I'd rib you a bit........Landry nudged and prodded me.
I've been thinking about one lately. I used a friend of mine's and it worked pretty well.
I don't use one.....but I do have a buddy who bought one and took the point off my best skinning knife after I asked him to show me how it worked. Knife is still kicking since 1994 but I run it on steel myself or let a seasoned work sharper do it now..
A common theme is all the WS threads it don't take the point off..
