Another Age? Question Please

These are the only pictures I have and they are a week apart. Same buck? I think so just by looking at his right side. Color difference due to lighting?
And I don't know what that white patch behind his ear is.

Same buck but he is rutted down and a 4 or 5 yr old to me. More 5 for this time of the year. My bucks in Goliad county right now look nothing like they did 2 months ago. Top pic he is just cold.
