My wife told me she had friends who got a huge holiday promotion discount so being the tightwad I am of course I called on it. Call in and ask for the holiday promotion- I got 50 bucks off a month for the next 12 months, no additional contract extension or anything at all. Now my tv bill is $23. Mine was $60 as well. She said it is different for different people. Maybe based on how long you have been with them. I also got an additional $5 off my Showtime channels for 6 months.

So $65 off for 6 months then $60 for the following 6 months.

Worth a call for anyone that has DirecTV.
