My lab was 13 years old also. Our vet would give her some kind of laser treatment and it did wonders for her. I’ve literally had to carry her in and she would walk out. Quick an fairly cheap. I want to say it was $70 dollars a trip. It’s not a cure, but it helped her out. Our vet told us she had arthritis in her spine that affected the nerves which caused numbness which caused her to go to the bathroom on the floor. Good luck.

It's called mother nature and it is sad. Put my 14 year old Schnauzer down and was sad for a few days but wife held her to the end of her life. After a few days you
realize you did the right thing.

My 14 year old Golden had the same thing happen to him. It’s old age. I cried like a little kid when they gave him the medication. He was laying in my lap...it was 3 years ago that this happened, still hurts. Hurts writing it.

Just know one thing, you didn’t kill them. You letting him be put to sleep was an act of love. I felt guilty for months. Couldn’t wrap my head around losing him because of something I did. It’s the right thing to do...but it’s hard as hell.

I don’t know if it’s time for your buddy, but you will know. When you take them to be put asleep is when they will act like the pup they were 13 years ago. It’s frustrating and painful

Hate to say but. Lost my 13 1/2 last year. Got weak wouldn't eat right took to my friend which is vet. Gave her everything. Cooked chicken and turkey breast for 3 months still had bad uncontrollable messes everywhere. Couldn't stand to see her suffer and don't mean pain, but just being a happy lab. RIP Sadie. Hardest thing to do

Problem: Dog is getting weak in the hind legs. Does not show any sign of pain wants to play. Beginning to have poop accidents in the house.

              Thoughts?

              Exercise?

              Treatments?

              Other?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

My advice is clean it up and enjoy your time with him. My 11.5 year old Great Dane is having peeing accidents in the house when a rain storm comes through. I would have put him down with his poop accidents at 7 if I hadn’t changed foods first.
