    Red Dot Scopes????

Got a question on red dot style scopes. I've never used one of these, but may be interested. One of the crosshairs on my current .22 scope has broken and I'm looking for a replacement. This is used mainly for plinking and some squirrel and rabbit hunting. Do any of you have a red dot style scope on your .22? Do you like it? Why or why not?

I've got a cheapy bsa on a browning buckmark .22 pistol and it's a hoot! I tried it on a rifle once and didn't care much for it past about 50 yards....the dot would cover up a target. They prolly have better ones now...mine is pretty old. Have fun!

I had one on my AR. I took it off and put on a 3x9. There is no magnification with the Red Dot but they are cool. If ya decide to get one. The one I have is brand new. Never fired the rifle with this scope on it. PM me and I'll sell ya this one.

I really like my bushnell multi reticle on my ar. It's easy and no problem with accuracy.

Most are made for close quarters shooting. The majority of them are 4 moa. I prefer the EOTech and Aimpoints on my AR's. Trijicon also makes a very good one. The real nice thing about them is that you don't have to get everything lined up right. As long as the dot is on the target, that is where the bullet goes. So no matter what position or orientation your eyes to scope are...the dot is good.

I have a BSA that is brand new that came with a rifle I just bought. It has a picatinny mount style. I'd be willing to swap you something (cheap) for it.

I have a Cabelas brand 40 mm on my 450 Marlin. No magnification, but puts a dot on a target in the dark. Only problem is you can't see the organe dot in full sun. It was not shaken apart into pieces sitting on top of a real thumper of a rifle. I'd recommend the Cabelas red dot.
