Got to the hole I hunt on the trinity and noticed the water way down. There is an island where I hunt and I figure I would just walk to it. I get about 50 yards from the boat and my foot sunk straight to my knee. Will trying to get it loose my other foot got stuck. So I got one unstuck and stepped like I was turning around. When I did that I couldn’t leverage myself to get the other foot loose. Basically got suction cupped to the mud and was sinking. My buddies threw me a rope and I wouldn’t budge. They threw me a wooden paddle to dig myself out. I got one foot loose but then the paddle broke. So I crawled out of my waders and army crawled across the mud. Before I left I tied the rope to my waders in hopes we could pull them out. They started pulling on the rope and the rope broke. Then I realized I left my wallet in the waders. So I crawled back out there to get my wallet and retie the waders. Crawl all the way back to the boat only to realize my wallet fell out on the crawl back. This time I crawled out there and stayed and dug our my waders with my hand while they pulled 15 minutes of digging and pulling we got them out. By this time it was 7am and ducks were flying. We walked around some more but the silt was so bad everywhere we wouldn’t be able to retrieve birds so we opted to leave. But the water was so much warmer then the air the steam was really bad and you can’t drive in that steam with sun shinning it’s so bright. So I wanted to open up the stove and light and eat breakfast at least and warm my bare feet and hands. Couldn’t find my lighter....so we left. Second longest boat ride of my life. By the time we go to the ramp I was shaking really bad. Loaded the boat and took off my muddy jacket and pants and rode back in my boxers. Crazy morning but I don’t honk I’ll hunt there for a while.
