    F-150 Remote Start

I have a 2017 F-150 with the remote start key fob. It works fine but I work inside a concrete bunker and it wont start the truck from inside the building. Its just a toy to me, but on cold or hot days its kind of a nice one.

I've seen there is a Ford Remote Start phone app that'll work from inside the building. I'm trying to set it up, but its asking for the Name, SIM ID, and 4 digit PIN. Where would I find these at?

Remote start in my other Ford is done by asking my wife to go start the truck.

Mine is a pain too. I will be pointed right at it and it won't work. Very inconsistent

I have to lock mine and then hit the start button.

Mine didn't work for a while, changed the battery and it's fine now. I think they put in old batteries at the factory.

For the phone app, you have to have the remote access hardware/software installed in the truck. It's like 500 bucks from the dealer. If your truck doesn't have it, the app is useless. Once that stuff is installed there is a booklet/card they give you with all the info you need to set up the app. Check the pouch that the owners manual is in, it will be an extra card separate from the manual. If equiped, the dealer will usually help you get all this set up when taking delivery of the vehicle.

This...hold lock for 3 secs, let go and then hit start.
