Only been here 6 months and never met the guy. But with decoy 5 yrds from my property and feeder 10 yrds inside that. I he hoping the deer is going to come within 5 yrds of the decoy or the 10 yrds between it and the feeder. Think the dude is hunting my property as well.

I’m gonna go outside and look for something that offends me, make some assumptions and then post to social media.

Wait...I think a guy on a motorcycle just drove past my house and was exceeding the speed limit. That was easy!!

From what I am reading it doesnt sound like you know your neighbor very well and/or yall dont talk very much. There is nothing "illegal" about him setting up a decoy and feeder on his side of the fence, regardless of how close it is to the fence line. He has every right to do so. Obviously there is a good chance that if he does shoot a deer on his place that said deer could jump the fence and get onto your place which would cause him to have to get onto your place to recover it. If/when this happens, he better come to you and ask permission to get onto your property. I wouldnt worry about it until it happens.

Don't believe this is true. The warden can ask you, but not force you to allow trespass.

believe you are wrong. If the landowner refuses the game warden isn’t allowed to come on your property to look for the animal. Although I️ think they often do anyway or find a reason to justify it. Long as the animal was shot legally it is my opinion a person should be able to retrieve it with game warden or landowner in question

You could put a posted sign on your property line right next to his setup. Might tick him off but it would get your point across.

OP although it isn’t easy don’t you think the first and easiest option in this situation is to have a conversation with the guy? A calm and cool talk will at least let you know what kind of guy he is and what action you may want to take in the event something happens. Said it before and it’s with worth repeating, it’s not a matter of if, but you when you will need each other. It will happen one day and it’s best to be good neighbors if possible

100% this. No need for him to ask permission until he needs to.

I have a similar situation and told my neighbor to keep the heck away from my property.

Agree totally with this and understand totally what you are saying. Get out and meet your neighbors to at least give him a chance.

"Sorry my decoy bothered you. I love taking pictures of wildlife, but I can't afford a nice telephoto lense. My brother had the decoy and it really slows the deer down and makes for great pictures."
