I'm an East Texas guy and don't know much about this area. I will be hunting the week before Christmas. It is a few hundred acres and I was told they have turkey, hog, and deer but I am not sure how dense the population is of these species. Just want an idea of what I can expect

Atascosa county can get some big bucks. You'll have tons of everything as far as population goes.

Definitely in for some fun on 300 acres.

Yea. Typical mature buck will probably be in 130s I’d imagine. Potential for much bigger though. Good area.

It maybe pretty decent depending on how densely populated the locals are around the property, get ready for deep sand and blackjacks, small landholdings with piles of "owners". I have seen some of the largest spurred toms come from that area and several multi beards as far at turkeys go.

Where in atascosa county are you hunting? I patrolled there years ago and I can tell from experience that the hog populations are dense. Decent deer and tons of turkey, but depends where you're at.

Probably lots of hogs, few turkey and the deer population can vary greatly around Poteet. The deer can be pretty big in that area.

It really depends on the area you are hunting around poteet... I personally know there has been some monsters killed to the North east

I've hunted doves there over the years with a good outfitter up until he passed. We always saw tons of sign and he always said the deer hunting was good. Good looking country!
