Uvalde Co hunting/rut

Any updates from the Uvalde area? Was out there opening weekend and deer movement was horrible. Hoping that this weekend it'll be a little better with the cool snap and no moon. That full moon killed us opening weekend. You could watch deer movement on the cameras fall out to almost nothing 4 days before opening day.

Still no movement for us. It has been horrible but as you said it has been hot. Plus we are still getting work done including moving stands and feeders, clearing brush, etc. So I'm sure that has something to do with it as well. I'm not happy about it but it isn't my decision.

Things started picking up last week. Seeing more deer.

Anyone been out lately? I’ll be there Wednesday but cameras are real slow. Bunch of does and 2 spikes hoping I’ll get those random bucks when rut kicks in

Lots of deer moving this past week.
I passed a 4.5 yr old 8 on Wednesday evening.
Mature bucks all over my camera in the back of our place during daylight. (800 acres) In the front, 15 deer every hunt but none of the mature deer have shown themselves day or night. 1 bale of alfalfa lasts maybe 2 days. Has the potential for an epic season IMO
We're 1 mile north of the uvalde County line in Real county.
No acorns to speak of and really dry.

Our place has had nothing to report. The whole crew will be out this weekend so we'll see what we can come up with. Bow season was an absolute bust for us though.

Going out tomorrow nothing moving even on cameras besides does. Dad spent 10 days out and only saw a doe or two. After thanksgiving usually picks up though

Good weekend for predator control
Fox came out and popped him, cat came out to eat said fox and he joined the dirt nap party.
Passed on a good 10 and hope he makes it another year.

Right now is a good time to be there.
