Deep water intervention. Been running riser and riserless interventions for the past 22 years all over the world, from the GOM to Nigeria. It’s a small niche, but work is fairly steady despite the downturn.
Pumpdown supervisor. I watch movies and tv shows. We actually pump wireline through the horizontal section of the well. And random misc pumping jobs. Worked derricks on a drilling for a few years before i started this 5 years ago.
Ive never seen a company get so red azzed about anything like they do when there is radio chatter during pump down
I pressure tested and certified flow line, then went to pumping, then flowback/well testing until the downturn. I had a great gig following a workover rig drilling plugs on vertical wells for Apache. It is no more
16 years Supply Chain Specialist
4 years Large Project Manager
I work globally with our R&D team to help production facilities be more efficient and coordinate the End to End projects. I deal with everything from production chemicals to microbial control/water filtration on the waste water end.
Money is nowhere near as good as the last boom,
Been thinking about getting out and starting my own business.
It's almost not even worth being away from home because of all the pay cuts.
Just not sure what I want to do or where to start.
Spent 4 years in Louisiana on the supply side of the industry working for a rental tool company. Of those 4 years, i spent one doing NDT and inspections. Moved on to Quality Control and and R&D for another 3 years. After an injury, i got pushed into an office and havent looked back. Living north of Houston now and wear many hats for the same company. Im now purchasing manager for us and our sister company. Get to travel some, meet new people in the industry and get to see and do cool things. Thankfully God has looked out for me during the fallout.
Been here for 10 years now and hope to continue
