I know a lot of you are about to buy a kiddo their 1st rifle for Christmas. Many of you will go the route I did which is a Savage Axis. It’s a good dependable rifle, but it has a crappy, stiff and gritty trigger.
So I watched an hour worth of DIY on how to improve the trigger and found one little nugget that was extremely helpful. It is a kit from a company on Facebook & EBay called affordable accuracy. Kit includes a new looser spring and a bolt. Replace the factory trigger and apply the bolt to reduce over travel and voila you have a completely new experience squeezing the trigger. Whole kit cost 17 bucks and saved me 2 or 3 trips to the hardware store sourcing the right spring and the right bolt. Kit also included the correct size Allen wrenches. Whole
Process took less than 15 mins. Trigger was tripping at about 6+ ponds and now goes bang at about 3.5.
This is not a paid advertisement, just a product that does exactly what it says and frankly is priced waaaay under market value for the results you get, I would have paid at least double!
So if you are getting a Savage Axis or already own one, I highly recommend dropping one in, especially before you wrap it up and put it under the tree!
