    Headed to Illinois

My boss is taking me on a hunt in pike county Illinois. We are doing the late muzzle loader hunt. Temps show to be in the 20's. Any body have any experience hunting Illinois early December? I'm sure the rut will be over. I know we will be hunting food plots I'm sure. I'm pretty excited to say the least. Never hunted out of the state. The season is only 3 days so I plan on hunting all day every day.

No experience there, but Good Luck. Even though rut might be over, I would I try to call him in

Good deer in Pike County. Don't over dress, just make sure your feet and hands stay warm.
Yes, stay on stand all day and don't worry about calling or rattling

      Good luck to you!!!

          Layers
          Long johns.
          Pants
          Sweat pants
          Bib overalls.

          Same for your body.

Eat stocking cap and scarf around neck to keep it warm.

Don't wear all of it on the walk in, you'll sweat and than freeze to death.

Preside shooting with it all on as it'll keep you warm but reduce your mobility.
I've hunted in 9° weather in Michigan on public land, no blinds, and was dressed similar and was warm.

          I'm a Yankee by birth.
          I love snow
