Some of the best smoked pork I ever had was from a 300 lb boar. I always jerk the straps. I have never heard of a sow that was too big. Eat 'em all.

The important thing is getting them out of the ecosystem.

If you can utilize the meat or know someone who can that's great too.

But the most important thing is killing as many of the non-native destructive animals as possible.

If I dont eat them I donate them. My wife took 5 HEB bags of meat to work with her today to give away.

If I owned a ranch, I would fly it with shotguns and try to kill every hog on the place. That's just me.

The place I currently hunt, sometimes it seem that they hold hogs in a higher regard than the deer. That's because they run hog hunts in the offseason and probably make decent money at it. Not near the money they make on deer.

If I can lift it in the truck I will keep or give away the meat. I like to hog-tie the rest to a stump or tree and hunt yotes over them.

Nobody around these parts has a problem finding out what to do with the big boars....we bought over $50,000 in hogs this year alone. It may me cringe when I heard one ranch just south of us had the Govt. trapper fly over and shoot them all on his place. He had a hand who was willing to trap the hogs and sell them to us, but I guess the owner didn't want to mess with 'em.

We supply approx 8 to 10 families a year with fresh wild hog and whitetail, that is after our frezzer gets full...
