    What shoulder mount pose?

I harvested my first bow buck last week, and am wanting to have him shoulder mounted. I haven’t decided what I like best, and wanted to poll the GS. Is there a pose that accents his size better than others? Thanks for the input. Here are a few pics of him on the hoof, and on the ground.

Very nice buck! Reminds me of one I shot. I did this with him. I feel like he actually grew once he was on the wall

Beautiful deer. I like that mount. May just have his head turned the other way. I’m hoping for the same wall growth phenomenon.

I agree with above that looking to one side lose is nice IMO

If you know your taxidermist well then get him to loan you same form with both poses to mount just the antlers to. Take it home and see how it looks in the place you want to have is displayed. Will look funny with just the form and antlers but will let you see it in person where it will be displayed for the correct turn or form to use. Done it a few times. If I am comfortable with the taxidermist I am using I will just leave the cape and antlers then tell him to mount it how it looks best. I might pick the form used but leave the rest up to him. But you have to trust his judgement. I do it a lot and have always like the results.

Thanks for that tip. I know the guy pretty well, so I bet he would. I’ve seen some different poses online that I like. Can’t decide if I want a semi-sneak with flush mount, or wall pedestal mount. Both look great.
