Sure if it's next to 500 acres for sale.

Well, aren't you special! The thread said nothing about buying land.

Personally, I would probably not hunt that 15 acres, but do what you feel comfortable with, given the specific situation.

I don’t have many go more than 60-70 yards with a good shot. Good luck.
That is a dry creek bed.

I hunted it with a rifle over Thanksgiving(killed an Axis), but I'd really like to be able to bow hunt it. There are some decent bucks there, and plenty of does. I'm headed back in January to kill a few does for the freezer and am thinking of taking the bow. The way the pa-in-law has the blind and feeder setup, I've got a <50 yard shot. So unless you head-shoot them, you loose more meat than you might think thanks to blood shot meat(I had to throw away most of both shoulders and half the ribs on that Axis).

Of course, he's a real particular guy that doesn't hunt and can't really be told anything, so he might not even let me take the bow for fear of a deer being lost...

They can have it. I have to drive through there in two weeks to attend my family Xmas party in Walker. I dread that drive.

I am headed to the sticks of East Tx in Houston County near Davey Crockett national forest as soon as I can retire from the Texas City area. Plus, it is near my lease in Angelina County.

In the meantime.... there will just be minor upkeep on the place. And, a nice place to stay on days off from work.

Hunt it. Might be some of the best deer hunting ever. And to the 500 acre+ guy, what a stupid thing to say Big Bank Hank@

We need to Hook up! I'm like 10 miles from Walker.

Walker is exit 15 and I'm exit 7.

                          Really dude? Geez.

OP, I'd say as long as it's legal and you're comfortable with have at it. That having been said, I'd pretty to at least meet the neighbors.

Yes I would hunt. A well placed shot will any animal within the boundaries. I hunted 5 acres in San Marcos for a season. Didn’t worry too much about the deer running

I would love to have 15 acres all to myself to hunt, I say go for it 100%! Worst case scenario you hunt it for a season and not be happy with it. I think you'd be surprised! Just my .02 lol looks like a pretty promising peice of land.
