My buddy in South Kansas called me yesterday saying he was off and asked me to come up. Since it was 85 degrees o. The Panhandle yesterday, I said oh heck yeah, I'm there.
Drove up last night and climbed a familiar burr oak that had blessed me twice before. Saw a great buck at about 80 yards right at first light, but he wasn't responsive to any grunting or rattling and just kept walking. About 20 minutes later, this guy came in grunting and trailing a doe. I nailed him at about 12-15 yards. Shot was a bit high, but that Slick Trick jacked him up and he only ran 50 yards and piled up in sight. Blind man could have followed the blood trail.
I'm a blessed man.
