Where was this hunt located? What predators do you have in that region? From only what I've read and heard sounds like a bear.

After looking this up I have read up on this topic and bears and Mt. Lions will both cover their kill and come back later to finish it off. Usually they are not far from the carcass!

I bet bear. Unless you are no where near bear country then Mt Lion

Definitely not a bear, my ranch is in western Parker county just east of Cool on the north side of highway 180. The Doss ranch borders me to the north and its about 3000 acres I believe, so definitely more rough undeveloped land than the majority of Parker county.

CP121 isn't real far from me and there are some locals claiming they saw a big cat, and another who had a goat killed and drug off. Of course nobody had any pictures to back up the claims lol. I am curious to see if he gets anything on his camera. I am betting bobcat if it comes back at all.
