is Kansas the state where if you do draw, you can also hunt adjacent units?

This was my 14th year to go. Being the place is in unit 6, your odds are pretty good at drawing a tag. I believe I've been putting in for 6 for the last 4 or 5 years.

Only if you apply for one and it's only one other unit. The last few years, I put in for unit 6 with 15 as my second choice because there are some tracts I could also hunt in 15.

depends on the unit. as little as 4 years ago there would be hundreds of left over tags for purchase over the counter. your chances of getting a tag were a 100%.

last season it was closer to 82% success for a tag. If you don't draw an either sex tag you can't even get a doe tag. You simply can not hunt.

Between the crossgun inclusion 4 years ago, the TV hunting shows from KS and threads on forums like these claiming Giant KS bucks behind every tree the tag situation continues to get worse each year.

It's a great place to hunt but if your not a resident, there is risk involved in getting a tag. Some folks like myself are willing to take that risk. Some are not.

Things have changed a lot in the 12 years that I've been hunting there. The hunting pressure has gone from minimal to over run with hunters in just a few short years

        Good luck!
