I really like the NB jacket, but I wish it had a hood. That's the only down side.

The sanctuary sure feels good this morning! (Low 30’s and in a ground blind.) Layered over llano, chama exp and springer vest, and Allegheny exp bottoms.)

Thinking about buying another jacket since FL is having the sale. Looking at the uncompahre vest or jacket or the north branch jacket. I’ve heard the uncompahre is loud. This will be strictly for whitetail bow hunting so I need quiet. Anyone else have experience with these? On the FL website, it explicitly states the sanctuary is quiet (their quietest) but doesn’t mention it for the other jackets.

The Woodbury is supposed to be the same as the sanctuary, just not as warm.

I don't have it, but it will be my next jacket. I'd look at the North Branch, but it doesn't have a hood. The Sawtooth is Merino, so it will be quiet.

I'll definitely be looking to get the sawtooth as well.

I have the sanctuary set, and as been mentioned, it is warm. I've had it for 3 seasons and never worn it in TX. It gets alot of use in ks though and it is very comfortable. It runs true to size best I can tell. With that said, I like my Sitka gear better than my first lite as it is more durable. I have small holes in my FL gear (sews up easily) from briars and barbed wire that the Sitka doesn't have.

Thanks Dope Hunter... OP check the First Lite web page, there is a sale on their ASAT line , may not be the Camo pattern you want, however the prices are real good.

I have the Sitka Fanatic and love it. Layers well also - I hunted in it last week in the low 20's from a ladder stand and was quite comfortable and not too bulky to draw and shoot my bow. IMO, they run 1 size small - at least for those of us less svelte folks. It is also quiet.

If you shop after season, especially on eBay, you can pick up a lot of their clothing for less than retail prices. Sometimes Camofire.com goes crazy and you pick up great deals there if you are fast enough.

I have the whitetail camo pattern and have used it elk hunting and the pattern worked well there. Personally, I think Sitka has gone over the top with all these different patterns.

Sounds like First Lite is just as solid though. I would recommend trying whatever you are buying on. The Dallas Safari Club convention is quick and they will probably both be there - might be worth a visit just for that.
