Panhandle Crane & Geese

[Humper]

Time for a little bird shooting outside Amarillo. Had winds coming out of the north at over 30 mph. Total of seven shooters and we limited on crane and geese by 9:30. Time for for a shower, lunch and get ready to repeat Sunday. Looking forward to a meal or two of “Ribeye of the Sky”.

My buddy’s son and grandson hosted us. They do guide some, but this was a family and friend hunt. They are very serious about their geese and crane. I was whooped from putting out and taking up all of his decoys and blinds. But it was worth it.

Yep. Wind was a big help. We had groups come in as low as 20 ft and almost hover over us. We could have shot 4 limits of crane without a problem ( other than the legality)
