    Loading deer in rangers

I use my front basket, a lot lower lift. No blood to clean up in the bed either.

I have used tie down straps a few times. that was a lot of back and forth.
Now I have a hitch mounted basket that pivots up and a long cheater pipe. now i can load up to 500 pounds

We used one mounted on the cab of a Kubota side by side to load my buddy's elk, but the dang diesel kubota would not even drag the elk with his head/shoulders in the bed... If that had been a Ranger, it would have been no problem. I too am now payin' for my younger more reckless days... I can no longer man-handle dead animals like I used to be able to.
It works great. Just tilt the bed back, lower the tailgate, and it makes a good ramp. After a few times of catching multiple large boars in the trap at a time, I knew I had to do something.

We built something like this on a friends 4 wheeler. We made it to where he can hook his winch on it and it flips the animal right onto the rack.

I have a product called Deadlite Lift. It's basically a three-piece hinged basket. It allows you to "roll" the deer or hog up onto the ATV or pickup bed without ever having to hold the full weight of it. I'm not sure it's still available anywhere, but here is the "sold out" link at Sportsman's Guide.

This right here.. Big STX deer can blow a bushing doing it this way though...

A Ranger bed may be to short for this to work but here's how I load a dead critter by myself into a pickup using half of an old extension ladder. I lay it on the ground and roll the animal onto it right in the middle. I pick up one end of the ladder and rest it on the tailgate then pick up the other end and it slides it right in.

This is what I do. I've been considering a cargo rack as other have suggested.

IF you have a winch in the front, mount two boat rollers on the roof and bring the winch over the top. My brother and dad do this and it is extremely easy.

One eyebolt mounted in or on the bed and a 3/8" rope will do the trick. Drop tailgate, tie one end of rope to a tree, run rope through eyebolt and back around deer's neck with a noose, pull forward and drag deer into bed of UTV.

I have done this three times this year. Works every time.
If you have any type of rack in the bed of your UTV you do not even need an eyebolt. Just run the rope around the base of the rack. That is what I usually do.

Ropes, pulleys, hoist, blah, blah blah..... Who wants to load the bed of their UTV's with that mess?
                              Use your noggin'.
